If you activate this on eBay,
you will no longer be able to use AuctionSniper, as of the present time:

Hi Community,

John's assertion is correct. If activated, the new eBay/Paypal security key requires that a unique code, generated just for that log-in attempt, be entered to access youyr eBay account. Since it is not possible for our service to bypass this step, it will not be possible for bidders who have this security key enabled to use Auction Sniper effectively.

Any additional questions or concerns? Please file a support request using the appropriate link on our help page: http://www.auctionsniper.com/help.aspx

However, clicking on 'verify' in Auction Sniper still returns the response that the credentials are correct and that all bids will be placed as per normal.

Obviously, though, they cannot be placed.

The only solution is to keep a good, strong password and to disable the security key just for the day (or whatever) that you have a snipe finishing. Signing on then reverts to password-only. You can reactivate the key again once the auction is over.

Deactivation / reactivation can be done fairly easily in eBay under 'My Account' - 'Personal Information'

dredging up the old topic-
Has AS considered making a program that rides on top of a user's browser, so we log in with security key and leave our browser up and AS runs from our machine? Maybe pinging now and then to measure latency etc and keep session alive?
