Everything seems to be working for me. You might want to file a support request and see if AS is having any problems: http://support.auctionsniper.com/If this was impacting more users, for such a long period of time, you'd see other threads about it. So far, you're the first.

How were you able to coordinate reports from other AS users from around the country?

I think your best, and probably quickest, bet is to use the above link I left to contact support. They may check in with the forum soon, but then it may not be soon enough.
Typically, even though this section of the forum says "Auction Sniper Support", as you can see, it's mostly frequented by users - some more or less clever & some more or less trying.

No probs for me (I'm with BT) so it may be some weirdness with AOL (not an ISP I'd recommend BTW but BT ain't much better!). When support is back then see what they have to say but be careful as irony and sarcasm are wasted on them - they're in the USA! R2

If you could access every website your try except the one, and you have even checked and disabled your firewall for that purpose - you'd assume that the server which didn't return the page was down.
You made the comment that "the auctionsniper server was not available in the UK. Possibly elsewhere." It is a HUGE jump to a conclusion to assume that because one person could not access AS, then that person's ENTIRE COUNTRY, and possibly the whole world, was also so restricted. There are many variables in internet connections, and most of them do not warrant supposing that national or global conditions exist. quote: BTW, my experience is that people respond in a cynical way when they don't have any other useful things to say.
My experience is that people who make grandiose, totally unsupported, sweeping statements without any evidence of such are generally not reliable reporters of current conditions. This is especially true when AS won an auction for me during the supposed downtime.

Sounds like a grandiose, totally unsupported, sweeping statement.

Hi all, I'm in the UK and AOL is my ISP and I am unable to access any of the auctionsniper sites. Has anyone found out why uk.auctionsniper.com and www.auctionsniper.com appear to be blocked by AOL? I set up a number of snipes that I need to modify but have no way to do this today. A previousely happy sniper

Hi Steel, So far, there’s only been users on this thread, and none of us have a clue as to what the problem is. Someone from support “may” post on this thread, but you’ll probably get a quicker response by filing a support request: http://support.auctionsniper.com/When you hear back from support, please post the results.

lalala, Thanks for posting that. quote: they confirm that the inaccessability of auctionsniper via their dialler is due to problems caused during their switchover
Well, Chatter, looks like you screwed up - again!

I have never been a fan of AOL - now, what does the 'A' stand for?! R2

So it seems the problem, contrary to the earlier rants, was indeed a problem of one ISP, and not an issue of national or global proportions. Good to know that it was not AS, as had been suggested.
