What is a private auction where the names of the bidders are kept "secret"? How does one invoke this priviledge, and what is the reasoning for using it? Thanks........Ed

It is a choice you can makes as a seller when you set up your auction. It simply does not reveal the bidders. I suppose there are a lot of reasons someone might want to do it this way. The one that comes to my mind would be something that cost many thousands of dollars and a bidder doesn't want to be spamed with all kinds of money scams. Or, I guess possibly something that you are less than proud to be bidding on in public. I have seen them used for no good reason.

I saw an auction for a peignor the other day where the bidders were kept private. According to the seller, she keeps the bidders private because she sells to both men and women.

If I were a man buying for myself, I might want my name private when bidding on a peignoir! Wink

My Uncle bought a Karma Sutra DVD the other day on eBAY.

He's old (60 plus) so that's a bit disgusting.

Sadly I let slip to my Aunt about his purchase.

My uncle is now not talking to me... Maybe it was her birthday present and I've spoilt the surprise?

R2

ps. what's a peignoir?
