I still have not heard anything about why snipes were lost (my first 2 using this service and maybe the last) - the chat has tried to be helpful but has not dealt with the issue - the first snipe was Feb 3 #1067661712 set at 7 sec, the second was Feb 4 #1068783028 set at 25 sec I think. This has nothing to do with clea and beabrain - I am registered with AS as beabrain as well as Ebay and always have been. I only used clea in the form you use to register for chat where it gives you an option to use a different postname than your sign in name. I am afraid to try AS again without some idea of why the bids were not placed or placed too late. I am sure Moonmtn would also like an answer. I see no point in using the service if I still need to sit by the computer myself. Thanks.
You use characters as part of your password that have special meanings in HTML. There is probably a bug in our system. Change your eBay password to something that is only letters and numbers. Then change your password with us to match and that should solve the proble.
A programmer will be looking into this and will be correcting it if that is the problem. I'm not sure it is, but that is the most likely cause. I checked and both your snipes were submitted on time and should have gone through and that's about the only thing out of the ordinary that I saw.
Thanks - I will try that on something I am not emotionally attached to! But, I do think it should be worked out because from what I understand using a combo of symbols, #'s and letters is safest. Clea/beabrain
Certainly using the combo is harder to crack then just numbers and letters, but I think anything around 10 characters that is composed of both upper and lower case letters, along with numbers is also significantly hard to figure out and would be sufficient.
It's worth testing to see if it works and you're welcome to change them back anytime and hopefully this will be fixed in the next few days or so.
sara - thanks for the help - I placed one bid after changing my password and it was placed - I lost but the bid was placed. Also re password safety - Ebay is not case sensitive. I do hope you work out the bug and let us know. Thanks Beabrain/Clea
