I placed a snipe on an auction. I lost the item. My bid was much higher. There is no report from Auction Snipe about this item. Before you say I didn't place it correctly I double checked the number/stats and it was placed CORRECTLY. If sys. failed I should still get a report. How often does this happen?

I am a new sniper - I have now placed 2 snipes - one on Feb 3 # 1067661712 and one today, Feb 4 on #1068783028. On the first I set it for 7 seconds out and today for 25 seconds. Neither bid was placed - at least not on time. Both bids I had a good chance of winning as both were well above the winning bids. What gives? I am not impressed?

Moon & clea....If anyone can figure out what happened, you can be sure that Adam will find out.I'm wondering how close to the end of the auctions each of you entered your snipe info and clicked "add"......I know for tech. reasons A.S. locks any modifying of snipes and Initial snipes(I think) 90 seconds before the auction's end...And if you don't click on "add" as you are completing the snipe.....it won't go thru....Let's see what Adam finds out...

I modified the bid quite a while before the auction on the first one - well over 90 sec and when I logged out and came back it showed the bid correctly and said ready - the second one was modified at the point of placing the bid - I accidently left the amount $1 and went back in to change it - this was well over an hour before the auction.

I see you have at least 2 eBay user names....I wonder if that doesn't have something to do with the snipes not going through ??? Seems like I've read in one of the forums..(can't find it now)..that only one ebay username can be registered on A.S. I'll see if I can find the post.....

My bid was placed several hours before the auction. I wasn't going to be home. It was set to bid 10 seconds before auction close. I have had no problems in the past this is first one. All other bids have gone through no problem. I even won a few!

no, I just have one E-Bay name - when I signed up for the chat I did not realize I should use that name - clea is the first part of my email - beabrain is my ebay id

I see - the last few post I have submitted with out signing in - that is why it is using beabrain and saying guest sniper

Hi Bea Still wondering what happened to your snipes.....The basic info on all of us that can be accessed shows that for A.S. your member name is "clea"....your user profile is "clea"..and you are registered as "clea" If your ebay username is beabrain and everything on A.S. is "clea",perhaps that is the problem.... Also,in the Newbies Welcome forum..topic-passwords a fellow sniper and Adam speak to that and how to correct any conflicting info.....Also,were you ever "clea" on eBay??? There is a "clea" username on ebay..that hasn't bid on anything for a good while.. Oh well,let's see what Adam finds out..........

Do I need to ask a question again and include all the information since I didn't include the stats necessary to check on my original query? Don't mind waiting, I just don't know how this works yet. We're leaving on Thur. and I have several auctions coming up. I don't want to miss another high bid because I didn't enter something the correct way. I can see why some people have said this auction stuff is addictive, but it's fun!
