Is the site down today or am I having personal problems, which is very likely. I keep getting "page can not be displayed".

It's odd, the forum is up but I still can't get to any other pages, including the home page, of AS.

I can't do a thing... put my snipe numbers in, and then get a OOPS.. the site is down.. did it on two different browsers... so OPPS means that it's down I guess.
Would be nice if they would let us know...

Being down happens too often with AuctionSniper. Extremely undependable. They always have an excuse. Unsatisfactory. I don't think they care...

How would you define “too often” and “extremely undependable” in terms of percentage (based on 24/7/52)?

“Always” and “excuse”? They do/have admit when they screwed up.

Good thing you included “I don’t think”.

We (I think I speak for all the forum regulars) really do appreciate your kind & perceptive comments.

Being somewhat in awe of your refined background and intellect, I hardly dare question your succinct judgement of Rick's employment here, but feel I must (you may come up with a better solution for his lifestyle, so it's worth a try)

a. "Get a Life"
b. "a job with someone other than AuctionSniper"

The first aim is extremely difficult for poor Rick - semi-comotose, paralysed by frequent painful bouts of "Twinging Screws" he lies in a darkened room, lifting his hand just sufficiently to type the responses you see in this forum. As his long time employer, I have seen the almost superhuman effort he puts into his replies.

In acknowledgement of Rick's severe disability, AuctionSniper pays him $385.67 per completed word, a rate which we are very proud of - for it is undoubtedly the very best paid in the Q & A business.

Even R2 can't better this, though he has staked his life (& somewhat dubious reputation) on gaining this particular pinnacle of human endeavour (hence the rather sharp words between these two rivals for the crown)

How then, is he to better himself?

From my viewpoint, his position is secure. Would you honestly recommend that he changes it for the vagaries of life outside?

For as AS goes about it's business of swindling the gullible, Rick is kept fully occupied lying (sorry explaining) on our behalf.

Its a hard life, but someone has to do it.

P.S. I presume you are a RETired VET? Unfortunately, unlike animals, we can't put Rick down, but have to watch him suffer in silence. Brave lad to suffer so much abuse without flinching.

retvet,

You should use Camera as a role model for fashioning put-downs. Any one, even a no one, can toss out a “get a life”. But, it takes real caring to come up with something original as Camera did. If you find it difficult to break out of the clichés, I suspect Camera (aka Octavius) will be more than willing (no charge) to do some ghostwriting for you.

Sure thing!

$385.65 per completed word.

Frankly Rick, I'm depressed - you cast a few pearls before the swine, but they never come back!

Perhaps I should try to give them a few kind words to enable them to get over their mental impairment.

That's it - in the New Year (2010) I'll try and turn over a new leaf.

Hope springs eternal .......

Let's just say I had 2 or 3 bids waiting to go in just a few minutes apart for the same thing. They were set so if I didn't get one I may get the other. Now let's say the site goes down. Do my bids still get posted?

Thanks.

Perhaps when Rick & Camera are done revealing their "man-crushes" for each other to the forum, they can address the actual complaint that when AS is down the support staff is not on this forum to keep us CUSTOMERS informed of his/her/their progress.

Yes, when you're putting out fires, your primary concern is the fire at hand; however, it would take a couple seconds to have someone update the forum. Even if it's a 1 person operation, one does take a bathroom, coffee, or smoke break. How about an "update the customers" break?

If internet access is the issue, then you have an excuse (which any customer-oriented tech could overcome by calling a buddy to update the forum for him/her.)

Food for thought, however, I'm sure it will be treated as fodder or fuel.

Hi Community,

Thanks for helping to bring this issue to our attention. The colocation where our servers are housed is currently experiencing some technical difficulties that has caused the Auction Sniper website and services to be unavailable. We have brought this to their attention and they are apparently working on the problem, but they have been unable to give us an ETA as to when this issue may be resolved to this point.

I will be posting further updates to the following thread when additional information becomes available: http://community.auctionsniper.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/385608021/m/4051012982. Thanks for understanding.
