I've been trying since last night to register on AS. I keep getting the same error as SMEE. It states I have an invalid user id or password. Could there be a problem with AS?

File a support case using the above link. They need to be notified if there IS a new problem. Don't wait for the forum.

Thanks for all of your help. I just tried the *new* click here Smile and sent them a message reporting the problem. Hopefully I'll hear back before my auction ends in 5 hours! Big Grin

There is a problem with AS that prevents the user from importing wins, and the error message indicates that AS doesn't have the correct password (which is not the case). It sounds like this problem may be related. Support? Are you reading?

How long does it take after you register to place a proxy bid? I don't mind waiting until they get it fixed, however the auction I really want to win is in 3 days. Two people have bid and I know this is going to turn into an all-out bidding war. This item is 1 in a million and will probably never show up again. It is only worth a lot to the people who want it, and they want it baad.

Hang in ther Blondeee! You can place your snipe anytime up to 3 min. before the auction close. They'll have it fixed shortly! A proxy can be put in about the same.

I tried signing out, using my daughter-in-laws sign-in, using Snipe It Now., signing out and back on mine. I am not having a problem. Have any of you tried using SNIPE IT NOW or hand entering the auction numbers in the snipe it?

No, not me. The problem I'm having is in registering with AS. If that doesn't see me as valid, I'm scared to trust snipe it now... do you see what I mean? What if it suddenly decides I don't exist and I lose the auction?

You could snipe it, if it lets you and during the last 30 mins or so, add a proxy the same as your snipe as a backup. But, maye it wil be fixed soon. Keep trying it.

You are entering password AND verifying, right?

This seems to be a problem only with new users signing up. I would not trust AS to snipe until you no longer get the 'invalid ID/password' message. IF AS will let you even enter a snipe you can test by doing the following (I've tried this several times and it should work for you, but try it at your OWN RISK.) I'm just a user, and DO NOT work for AS support!

Find an item and enter as a snipe with min bid amount. This should be an auction that ends 10 or more minutes from now so that you have time to edit. You can not edit or cancel a snipe as much as 3 minutes before end so make sure you have time.

After you've entered the snipe go to 'My Snipes'
(note current price) and click on 'Modify'.
Lower your max to 1 cent more than current price.
Click on 'Change Snipe'
Do NOT click 'update prices'

At auction end you will get 1 of 2 messages.

Snipe to low --> Your ID and password is OK, but your bid was to low.

Invalid ID/Password --> Your account still has a problem with ID and/or password.

IF you try it, let us know what happens.
