I was so pleased when I found AS and started using it a few months ago. I seemed like the answer to so many prayers......however, despite being very impressed with AS in the early days, the service is getting steadily worse and worse. Firstly my lead times were 'adjusted' to 25+ seconds and I either got outbid on items or paid more - I did query this and got the usual '....AS compensates for high eBay demand traffic' - not at that time of night, I don't think so. When I queried again, I got a very curt and arrogant response along the lines of......'would you rather loose the item altogether??' - I let this pass, as the writer did have a fair point. HOWEVER, now a new situation has developed. A snipe failed to 'go off' on an item, and it still appears in my current pending snipes folder more than 5 hours after the auction ended!!. It even says the correct ended time under the description - WHAT IS GOING ON HERE??. Come on AS - I am paying you for a RELIABLE service - not to foul up my auctions and give me arrogant responses to my queries.

What's more, if you really get under their skin, they'll 'moderate' your postings here, which means everything you say will get censored. Read the threat from AS 'Support' on one of the adjacent threads. Great company-- ya gotta love 'em.

Having said that, AS is the best we've got for now. And it's cheap-- there's no denying that intelligent use of AS saves you money.

Mr Natural,
I fully expect this post to be deleted, but AS is not the best we've got. I have had much better experiences elsewhere. In fact, I've used other services that have had no problems with the "Sunday on the hour" problem. I am quite certain it is AS that gets clogged on sunday, not ebay.

Dear Shillposting, scum ball RobMak. We dont post your forum, so stay the **** off ours you loser! When you represent other companies it isn't right to post on our forums acting like just another user.

I'm not going to delete your post because it shows just how low others will sink. Good job loser.

Where are you coming up with this crap? I've moderdated 1 person in the past year. And they were warned but persisted. They got to say what they wanted, 10 times or more I'm sure. That was enough. The forum doesn't need to be clogged up with their one point over and over, how fun would that be to read?

senator30e the snipe you mentioned was our fault. But it's not a generic failing of the site. Your snipe ended during eBays 1am-3am maintenance time. Normally we place those snipes at 12:59am.

If I had to guess the cause it would be the person doing the moving of snipes in that timeframe forward to 12:59 did something wrong.

Uhhh, maybe it was in the thread where you said:

In any case this is the end of this discussion. It's been discussed in other threads at least 100 times as well. Any new threads created will be deleted, and the posters posting privlidges will be set to moderation, which means I'll have to approve new posts.

I did admit I moderated that one. And that subject had been discussed at least 100 times too with some very long replies as to the who, whats, wheres, whens, and whys we do what we do.
You made it sound like a typical thing, when in fact that's the only time I think I've done that in 3 years.

I really do try and let things flow freely here. I dont want to moderate anything and try hard not to. And I do want to thank everyone on the message boards. We have a great group of posters and everything has always been kept civil here. There was only one time when one or two posters got on eachothers backs, but they resolved that on their own. So thanks for keeping the message boards here a fun place to come.

senator30e, I confirmed with the person who did last nights maintenance that they didnt move snipes properly. He moved them to 12:59pm rather than AM. That is also why it still shows "Ready" rather than a win or loss. So the system was registering the "ready" status properly because it thought the item ended at 12:59pm, not AM.

We corrected the problem and have added a step so that they can check and make sure snipes set to go off when eBay is down will be moved from 1am-3am until 12:59 so they are placed before eBay and us do our weekly maintenance.

I've added 3 free snipes to your account.

Hello all...I had a successful day with my snipes, but not totally pleased as I lost some auctions due to my snipes not even being bid even with a 9 second lead time. Do I need to extend that out a little more? I do not really wish to do that, but if I must I will. I already have started to use a 11 seccond lead time as of today after this afternoons failings.

Best Regards,

Nathan

I just changed my snipe time with no problem. However, when I changed my credit card I had to enter it several times, but it did take. Weird how it works for some and not others Confused

looney33351: you can't modify snipes in the last 3 minutes. The site is working as it's supposed to.

All your snipes were placed, your bids were too low. Click the "Lost" link on the MySnipes tab, then click the Confirmation button next to each losing snipe to see that we placed your snipe.

A 9 second lead time is fine. 5 seconds is fine. We placed 100% of your snipes today. In fact only 2 in the past 10,000 snipes we've sent to eBay have been late, and again those were likely caused by eBay or were maybe 1 second snipes or something.

I clicked on all 7 of your losing snipes, all had confirmations, all were bid too low. You did win all the ones were your bid was high enough. 4 or 5 I think. I cant see anything wrong with the site on any of your snipes.

I have had great, no, fantstic luck with AS. The only times I have lost is due to my own doings. I did not want to pay that much. My bid was not a high enough increment. I did not give enough lead time on busy days.
I for one love the service. If you do not like it...you can always go somewhere you will be happy.

Holy smokes!

Well in all this time I hadn't noticed you were such a big sniper. I guess that's a good thing since if things were broken for you often I'd have been checking out things in your account to see what was wrong and would have noticed that huge amount of snipes.

I think in honor of your upcoming 850th winning snipe we should have a free snipe day next week. You heard it here first. I'm putting in a request for a free snipe Friday next week. I'll write back once I get approval. Probably on Monday.

SmileHi there Sara
I really hope you can help me. I have been using AS for some time now and no problems. Its been great at winning me auctions. But just lately I got an error message that said User/Password invalid. So I requested AS to email me my password and its the same one I have been using all along. Then just last night used AS to win an item, it accepted my snipe and all appeared to be ok then when auction was over AS advised me that it could not place my bid because User/Password invalid????????? Surely I could have been advised of this when I placed the Snipe and I would have looked into why this was so. I am still none the wiser why AS keeps saying this cos I have not changed my User name or my password with AS since i joined. Can you please throw any light on this for me. Thanks
Sandie Big Grin
